Speed@Seawork 2024
28.02.2024
Speed@Seawork will be held at the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) Cowes on the Isle of Wight, UK on Monday 10 June 2024.
Vessels operating at high speed, for tasks ranging from security to search and rescue, are a significant specialist sector of the marine industry. As operational demands increase, new solutions are needed for propulsion, navigation, communications and care of the crew.
The 5th edition of Speed@Seawork will be on Monday, the day before main Seawork event commences. Delegates will meet in Southampton then board the 'Ocean Scene' at Town Quay for a passage across The Solent to the Isle Of Wight. Presentations and networking underway include breakfast on board sponsored by OSI Maritime.
RORC clubhouse is above Trinity Landing. A short walk from Cowes town centre and the Parade, with its iconic maritime institutions, including the historic Royal Yacht Squadron. This venue will be the operations centre for sea trials and host the lunch.
Held in partnership with SMI (Society of Marine Industries) Speed@Seawork offers an international field of delegates from the defence and specialist sectors the opportunity to meet sector-specific companies and hear key note speeches from MoD personnel.
Sea trials will take place in the waters of The Solent. On the return journey to Southampton there are drinks and canapes, plus opportunities to view some of the exhibiting vessels in action.
First introduced in 2018, Speed@Seawork is aimed squarely at facilitating growth and development for the design, build and operation of these specialist vessels.
