ICOE 2016 - International Conference on Ocean Energy

23 to 25 February 2016 Edinburgh UK

ICOE 2016 – the International Conference on Ocean Energy is being held in Edinburgh UK from 23 to 25 February 2016.

The United Kingdom is currently the leader in ocean energy with more wave and tidal devices being tested (10MW) than the rest of the world combined. ICOE 2016 is organised and hosted by RenewableUK in partnership with Scottish Renewables.

In order to meet the COP21 targets, it is likely that ocean energy will be mainstream by 2050. Europe has led technical innovation in maritime engineering for two millennia. The EU continues to lead the way when it comes to the latest engineering challenge - generating electricity from ocean waves, tides, salinity gradient and thermal energy. At the same time, Asia Pacific and North and South America are now accelerating their test programmes and delivering good results.

The conference features over 150 high-level speakers, covering topics including emerging markets, grid solutions, consenting and licensing, emerging technologies and large investor engagement. 900 delegates comprise of investors, project and technology developers including decision makers from government and industry. 90 international exhibitors include agencies and organisations from 25 countries.

ICOE 2016 will highlight and map the journey of ocean energy technology from concept to commercialisation. Delegates from around the world will share knowledge, showcase technologies and meet new international partners, investors and suppliers.

The conference features 150 speakers, 900 delegates and 90 international exhibitors from 25 countries.
