Mudeford Lifeboat Crew Train In Rough Weather
The volunteers of Mudeford's lifeboat practice their rough weather boat skills in lumpy conditions off Christchurch, Dorset on the south coast of the UK. Training in rough weather is vital for RNLI crew to ensure they are able to cope with a variety of weather conditions. The Atlantic 85 (8.5 metre / 28 feet) is the third generation B-class Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) developed from the Atlantic 21 and the later Atlantic 75. The boat is powered by twin 115 hp Yamaha 4-stroke outboard engines that have been inversion-proofed to ensure the engines are still operational after a capsize.
