MACC Is Back - Multi-Agency Craft Conference 2018

MACC 2018 is being held at the United States Coast Guard Yard, Baltimore Maryland US, from 17 to 19 July 2018.

The Multi-Agency Craft Conference (MACC) is an open forum for the exchange of operational and technical information on small boats and craft between Government agencies and the maritime community. MACC 2018 is being organised by the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE).

Information on new technologies and new product offerings as well as information on Army and Navy service craft, Navy and Coast Guard patrol boats, Navy and USMC expeditionary craft, and Naval Special Warfare craft are highlighted in chaired technical presentations, vendor and agency displays, and in-water demonstrations.

Since its founding in 1998, MACC has served as a primary venue for leveraging knowledge and lessons-learned across multiple Government agencies that develop, procure, or operate small boats and craft. Previous conferences have covered a broad range of topics including: requirements generation, boat and craft design, acquisition processes, maintenance and repair practices, logistics and training, and new technology development and integration. The shared information results in effective use of resources, opportunities for collaboration, a more knowledgeable industry-base, and best-value small boats and craft for all end-user communities.

For 2018, MACC is expanding its reach to include technical content and exhibits historically featured as part of the ASNE Launch and Recovery Symposium. Since its founding in 2005, the Launch & Recovery Symposium (L&R) addressed the launch, recovery, and operations of manned and unmanned vehicles from marine platforms. Manned and unmanned vehicles include helicopters, rotorcraft, fixed-wing aircraft, RHIBs, high-speed craft, tenders, UAV, USV and UUV. The scope of L&R includes the launch and recovery systems, the host marine platforms, and the vehicles themselves-all of which are evolving at a rapid pace.

By combining MACC and Launch and Launch and Recovery into a single event, authors, attendees, and exhibitors get the value of both Symposia under one roof. As a special addition for MACC 2018, the MACC technical program will include a Planing Hull Simulation Grand challenge.

MACC 2018 in Baltimore at United States Coast Guard Yard

For over a century, the United States Coast Guard Yard has built, repaired and renovated ships on Curtis Bay in Baltimore, Maryland for the U. S. Coast Guard.

It is the Service's sole shipbuilding and major repair facility, and an essential part of the Coast Guard's core industrial base and fleet support operations. The Yard operates as a revolving fund activity with annual revenue of approximately $100 million.
