Coastal and Maritime Surveillance Africa 2015

Coastal and Maritime Surveillance Africa 2015 is being held from 17th to 19th March in Accra, Ghana.

This summit addresses key maritime security challenges faced by regional navies and police forces currently looking for innovative coastal and maritime surveillance and security solutions.

The Coastal and Maritime Surveillance Africa Summit will take place directly preceding the Gulf of Guinea multi-national naval exercise, Obangame Express, which is hosted by the Ghana Navy.

Various navies in Africa are currently looking at procuring Corvette class OPVs plus several fast interdictions and patrol craft. Agencies are also evaluating purchase options of expansive coastal surveillance systems, integrated with maritime surveillance assets and their existing vessel traffic management information systems.

Coastal and Maritime Surveillance Africa is an official event of the Ghana Navy with full governmental support. The level of endorsement and participation from the Ghanaian authorities is such that this crucial and unique conference will include delegates from the highest echelons of government, the tri-services, police and maritime authorities.

The scale and participation of this event is unprecedented for the maritime community. Furthermore, oil and gas company executives are taking a multi-lateral approach to increasing maritime security through the purchasing of vessels and contracting of private security measures will also feature heavily.
