The Zodiac Mark 5 is part of a unique range of larger inflatables that are designed primarily to carry heavy loads at planing speeds due to the patented Futura hull shape. The Mark 5 HD (heavy duty) Zodiac MK5 HD Inflatable 5.85 metres / 19' 2" 2.48 metres / 8' 2" 2520 kg / 5556 lbs 90 hp / 67kw uses heavy materials and is reinforced throughout making it suitable for extreme service.

Even at nearly 6 metre (20 feet) the Zodiac Mark 5 inflatable boat can still be rolled up into a bag and thrown into the back of a pickup truck or aircraft. It can carry a maximum of 15 persons according to ISO6185 and the maximum payload including engine and fuels is 2520 kg (5555 lbs).

The Zodiac Mark 5 has an aluminium anti-skid floorboard in 4 sections that gives a usable floorboard area of 4.6 m². The inflatable tubes are constructed of Hypalon neoprene with 5 airtight compartments on the main buoyancy tube plus an inflatable keel and 4 self bailers. The Mark 5 has 2 C02 inflation points, 4 buoyancy tube intercommunication / inflation valves and 2 inflation valves on hoses to speed tubes.

Reinforcements include all round rubbing strake, rubbing strakes under the keel and tubes plus a stainless steel bottom shoe on the transom. The engine transom pad is constructed of marine plywood with an aluminium engine mounting plate. For handling there is an exterior lifeline and bow carrying handle. For lifting the Zodiac Mark 5 has bow, stern and lateral rings. For mooring and towing there are U-bolts aft on the transom plus bow D-rings.
