The Boss Boat Operator Drysuit is designed to offer dual function protection from the elements. The Boss system can be worn as traditional foul weather gear or as a drysuit. The Boss has various features designed specifically for professional mariners who spend extended periods operating open boats. Featuring the unique Captive Zip design, the Boss has merged drysuit water integrity with the comfort and variable levels of closure expected from traditional foul weather trouser and jacket combinations.
When worn in 'full dry' mode the Boss is a drysuit. In fair weather conditions, or when relaxing between harsh weather exposure, the Boss is quickly converted to 'standby mode'. With the over-jacket zipped closed, the Boss provides ventilation and protection equivalent to traditional two piece foul weather gear. Converting from standby mode to full dry mode, by applying the neck seal and reclosing the over-jacket, can easily be accomplished while wearing a PFD or lifejacket.
The Ocean Rodeo Boss features a high spray collar and a relief dry zipper with protective flap. Safety features include an oral inflate / deflate hose for buoyancy management and reflective SOLAS tape. The Boss incorporates cargo, chest and shoulder pockets plus an internal dry pocket. Adjustable and removable suspenders plus a ‘wader’ style belt at the waist restricts water entry in accidental standby mode submersion.
Ocean Rodeo’s waterproof and breathable three layer ‘VENTOR’ material is designed specifically for drysuits. The salt water resistant, non-porous, hydrophilic polyurethane breathable membrane is protected by a 200 Denier Nylon / Taslan outside abrasion layer with DWR finish. Critical reinforcements include knee, elbow and seat padding with 420 Denier overlay. The tough outer fabric is coated with DWR to repel water whilst allowing moisture to vent out from within the suit.
