Naiad Inflatables of New Zealand produce RHIBs ranging from 2.5 to 24 metres, powered by outboards, diesel jets and stern drives. Naiad's expertise is in the custom design and manufacture of large commercial craft. Naiad vessels are used by police, coastguard, customs surveillance, fisheries protection, commercial fishing, diving, surveying and pilotage.
In-house Computer Aided Design facilities enable Naiad to be innovative in design and to research the effect of hull changes on performance. Naiad focus on creating high performance hulls with customer input and feedback to ensure the best craft for a particular application. Designs can be modified to the customer’s specific requirements from air tube to foam fender system, 30 knots to 60 knots, cabin to open RIB. Naiad designs include seating layouts for dive, water taxi, whale watching and tourism applications.
Naiad offer three different types of fendering system to suit customer requirements. Naiad buoyant fenders are fitted to the hull as non-structural components, easily removed for repair or replacement. Naiad have developed a removable foam fender system as an alternative to air filled buoyant fenders utilising a urethane and foam construction suitable for heavy commercial applications.
The soft ride and predictable handling of Naiads makes them easy to drive in rough conditions, while maintaining excellent speed and reducing crew fatigue. This ensures that Search and Rescue crews can get to the rescue area faster to increase the chance of being found and to reduce the victim’s risk of drowning or hypothermia. Naiad aim to provide the best possible solution to meet the needs of extreme rescue organisations.
