Speed@Seawork 2019
Speed@Seawork 2019 takes place on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 June. Mercator Media, the organisers of Europe’s largest commercial marine exhibition, Seawork, introduced the inaugural Speed@Seawork in 2018.
Fast vessels operating at high speed for security interventions and Search & Rescue are a significant specialist sector of the commercial marine business. Speed@Seawork is aimed squarely at facilitating growth and development for the design, build and operation of these specialist vessels. As operating demands increase, new solutions for propulsion, navigation, communications and care of the crew will be needed.
Delegates start Day 1 of Speed@Seawork afloat with a networking welcome breakfast, sponsored by OSI Maritime Systems, onboard the Ocean Scene with an opening presentation from Alistair Hughes, Team Leader within UK MoD. On arrival at the Cowes Yacht Haven delegates head to the Haven Events Centre. This purpose-built, state-of-the-art venue is the operations centre for the sea trials and hosts the conference lunch, sponsored by BAE Systems, and presentations throughout the day.
Speed@Seawork exhibitors have the chance to display and discuss their products throughout the day. The impressive marina offers quick access for delegates to the range of demonstration vessels, heading out into the challenging waters of The Solent. Sea Trials day are based in and around Cowes Yacht Haven on the Isle of Wight, UK. Centrally located in Cowes, a short walk from the town centre with its iconic maritime institutions, including the historic Royal Yacht Squadron.
Day 1 finishes with networking drinks and canapes, sponsored by Ocean Safety, before delegates headed to the Red Jet terminal for return travel by fast ferry to Southampton
Day 2 the Speed@Seawork conference takes place at Seawork itself. The half-day format has key industry presentations at the Seawork exhibition conference centre interspersed with networking and the opportunity to visit Seawork exhibitors.
